Tanzania Southern Circuit has much to offer and can be cheaper compare to Tanzania Northern Circuit of which is a way expensive and lots of tourists. In this circuit you have a chance to visit the biggest national park in Tanzania and second in Africa or you can do Selous game reserve which is the biggest game reserve in Africa. There is also Mikumi national park which can be visited all year also this is the closet national park from Dar es salaam (7hrs drive) and has enough to see. If you like hiking then combine Mikumi National Park and Udzungwa mountain national park and this can be the best Tanzania safari with affordable budget.Â
The Selous Game Reserve to the south of Mikumi is great for river experiences on the Rufiji River and also for walking safaris. Udzungwa Mountains National Park is all about forests, waterfalls and weird endemics, while Ruaha National Park just west of Iringa is the gem of the southern circuit.
These areas offer a good variety and density of game, an interesting crossover of eastern and southern Africa species, and plenty of predator action. In addition, open-sided safari vehicles enhance the viewing experience, in contrast to the closed-sided vehicles used in the north.Â
The good this is you can also combine all southern circuit safari for only 8 to 10 days or you can do a safari to Selous game reserve for 3 days or Mikumi national park 2 days.
